History

1967-1974, MILITARY DICTATORSHIP

“From April 1967 until July 1974, Greece was ruled by a violent and oppressive regime, contrary to the liberal spirit of its people and tradition”[1]. The domestic repercussions of the dissolution of the democratic regime, had an impact on the organization as well as on the functioning and mission of the then KYP, which became, up to a certain level, an instrument for the personal ambitions of the military who ruled the country for almost seven years.
